Virtual Cooking with Michelin Star Chefs

PROJECT BRIEF

Truffle Shuffle was founded when the COVID-19 lockdowns left the founders, Jason and Tyler, without work. They were chefs at Thomas Keller’s restaurant The French Laundry but since the restaurant was temporarily shutdown… they thought of an interesting idea: What if they could provide Michelin Star dining experiences to people via Zoom?

On this project, I was the Lead Product Designer that worked on the Corporate Events Planning tool.

While there’s several companies that ship dinner ingredients to customers, Truffle Shuffle specializes in luxury dishes.

They regularly send kits that include ingredients like truffle salt, and wagyu steaks… they also allow customers to tune-in to “live” broadcasts of their chefs cooking the dish.

Truffle Shuffle really found a market for their interactive culinary experiences with event planners at large Silicon Valley companies that sometimes plan 2 to 5 private events each month to entertain potential customers & clientele.

 

CONCLUSION

After appearing on Shark Tank in April 2021and raising $500k from Mark Cuban, the founders made the exciting career transition from food service to the startup business life! Today, Truffle Shuffle sees about $1M in private event bookings each month with Silicon Valley companies like Adobe, Figma, Oracle, and Salesforce.
